I came to Emma initially in my first trimester of pregnancy, and she helped me deal with the aches and pains of pregnancy and after birth, meaning I was more comfortable during and after birth and could feed and carry my baby more comfortably.   She also helped me prepare for the arrival of my baby with things I hadn’t realised I’d need, such as thinking about the ergonomics of my breast-feeding set-up and writing a list of things that make me happy, which proved to be really important for making things easier after baby arrived.

Emma helped me navigate an insane year when I became a mum for the first time, during a pandemic, with part of my family abroad, and while moving house.  Emma supported me through the low points; the times when I didn’t know how to manage without getting overwhelmed. I was worried about doing the right thing and often wasn’t enjoying looking after my baby. There were also times when I didn’t communicate well with my family, which led to more strain. Emma helped me to learn how to cope with the different demands, and how to juggle without losing my sense of self and joy, so I was happier, and functioned better as a parent, partner, sister, and daughter. My husband said it was the best money we spent because I felt so much better after my sessions with Emma!

Through my work with Emma, I also developed an awareness of things that were making me unhappy or holding me back in life, and now know the route out. I now know what I need to do to take care of myself so I can do the things I need to do and enjoy life, and how to predict when I will need to focus on that.  When I started working with Emma, I was at the start of a journey that I didn’t quite know how to prepare for. I now feel better equipped to be a parent, but also to deal with things in my wider life, which I hadn’t expected. I’m excited about facing the challenges of the future with the tools she has given me.
